After two rather difficult years, Jazz on the Triangle resumes. This will be the somewhat delayed Twenty-Fifth Season of the Series. The schedule is:
April 24 – The Midtown Jazz Quartet
May 15 – Rod McGaha
June 19 – John Birdsong with Paula James Chavis
Concerts are at 4:00 pm each date. From an abundance of caution, we are regrettably avoiding the Reception following the April concert; we will continue to evaluate the COVID situation for May and June.
Tickets are $25 each, or the Series of 3 for $60.
More about the groups below.
The Midtown Jazz Quartet
This is a group new to Holy Trinity, but one that has been gathering a following around town. The Midtown Jazz Quartet includes Dr. Gary Smith on bass, Steve King on piano, Gus Duffy on drums and Michael Morton on flute. The group was formed from an ensemble at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and you won’t find a more suitable incubator for jazz talent in Nashville. They will play an innovative set of jazz standards.
Rod McGaha
Rod McGaha needs little introduction to Nashville Jazz Enthusiasts. Trumpet extraordinaire, and a darn good visual artist to boot.
John Birdsong with Paula James Chavis
Perennial favorites Birdsong with vocalist Paula Chavis return for our traditional Father’s Day concert.
If you want to audition the groups, and have online access, go to YouTube and look up any of these. You will be glad you did.
